Title: Celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month / OUTober

As the first Catholic, Jesuit higher education institution to establish an LGBTQ Resource Center (2008), Georgetown celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community and draws upon our commitment to continuing to advance equity and inclusion. This month, we celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month, also known as “OUTober.”

We use this month to reflect on the histories of LGBTQ+ students, faculty and staff within Georgetown and the contributions of our academic community to the broader work of promoting equity and inclusion.

During October, we invite you to explore the content on the Celebrating LGBTQIA+ History and Culture at Georgetown landing page and to join us for the range of events planned for OUTober, including celebrating National Coming Out Day on October 11 in Red Square from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We invite you to check back regularly for new stories and event information. Thank you for joining us in celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month at Georgetown.
