Title: Upcoming Enhancements to Student Recruitment and Hiring in GMS

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce the upcoming launch of Workday student recruitment and hiring functionality in GMS, scheduled to go live the week of August 12, 2024. This initiative represents a significant enhancement to our student hiring process, allowing for a more efficient and streamlined approach.

Hiring managers and departmental administrators will now post job openings for student positions directly in GMS, and students will apply directly for positions within GMS. These enhancements will eliminate the need for the Hoya Hiring Form, thus simplifying and accelerating the hiring process.

To help you transition smoothly to this new functionality in GMS, we have created a dedicated page on the HR website with detailed information about the project and resources for hiring departments.

Actions Steps

  • No new student jobs will be able to be posted on the existing student employment on-campus hiring portal, HoyaWorks, after August 9, 2024. If you have open positions without in- progress hires in HoyaWorks at that time, they will be closed and you will need to repost the position in GMS.
  • Departments can complete in-progress student hires using the current processes through August 31, 2024, after which all on-campus positions must follow the new GMS procedures. HoyaWorks will remain active for posting off-campus non-Georgetown student positions.

Training Sessions

To ensure everyone is well-prepared, we are offering training sessions throughout August and September. All managers, HRCs and Student Employment Reviewers should sign up for at least one of these sessions to familiarize themselves with the new functionality and processes.
