This Valentine’s Day probably looks a lot different than any other year. No matter how you are celebrating this quarantine holiday, you are sure to need some sweet treats to accompany your pandemic-proof activities! As an avid baker and quarantine cook, I compiled a list of some of my favorite treats with a Valentine’s Day twist, to make your lovely day just a little bit sweeter.

Pretzels M&M Kisses

  • While I usually eat these during the holiday season, they are even better after the new year. To make them a bit more festive, I added pink, white, and red M&Ms, and some Valentine’s-themed sprinkles. You could also add some SweetTart Hearts instead of theM&M’s for a different but cute kick. Make sure to leave the pretzels in the oven long enough that they are melty enough to put in the M&M, but not too long that the chocolate gets burnt!

Chocolate-covered Strawberries

  • A classic Valentine’s treat is a must to celebrate in 2021. A tip to make sure your chocolate stays silky smooth: melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pot of boiling water, and add some coconut oil to the chocolate! Once your chocolate is silky and melty, I would recommend pouring it into a thin cup to make dipping your strawberries easy and mess-free! After dipped, lay your strawberries onto a pan with parchment paper and get creative with the toppings. Chopped walnuts, toasted almonds, Valentine’s sprinkles, white chocolate drizzle, caramel drizzle, are just some ideas. Make it fun!

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

  • This treat is all the rage this year. Don’t worry- it does not involve any lettuce, it is instead a sweet and salty pie! It has a pretzel crust, cream cheese base, and strawberry jello topping! An unbelievably layered treat for your perfect Valentine’s Day celebration, but make sure to start early in the day so that it is ready by dessert!

Even though the past year hasn’t been filled with sweetness, your Valentine’s Day can be! Surprise who you love, your family, friends, or just make a little treat for yourself. A couple hours in the kitchen can be stress-relieving and full of fun with some treats on the way and a whole lotta love. Happy Valentine’s Day!
