Title: Campus Construction Updates: West Road Closure and AC Outage

Dear Members of the Georgetown University Community,

We are reaching out to inform you that there is an emergency chilled water leak on campus resulting in an immediate two-lane closure of West Road along the side of the Hariri building. Coming from Canal Road, the closure begins at the North Road intersection. Coming from Reservoir Road, Entrance 4 the closure begins after Leavey Garage/Garage 4 entrances. At this time, pedestrian access to this section of West Road remains open.

Parking

Access to the Leavey Center and Hariri garages is not impacted by this closure. However, if you park in Hariri (Garage 4), plan to enter and exit campus via Reservoir Road Entrance 4. We ask that community members who park in the Southwest Garage enter and exit campus via Canal Road.

We will continue to monitor traffic flow and are working to mitigate traffic delays that may occur with the new traffic patterns.

Cooling Outages

There will be a resulting air conditioning outage in the Hariri building. Temporary cooling will be provided in the building, and we will monitor temperatures during the outage.

GUTS Impacts

Delays may occur for the Dupont to Lombardi Circle and Rosslyn to Lombardi Circle routes. These shuttles are temporarily being rerouted to enter via Reservoir Road Entrance 4. Alternatively, riders may choose the GUTS routes that drop off at the bus turnaround.

Reiss/Arrupe Walkway Repair

We are also conducting an emergency utility repair causing closure of a small area between Arrupe and Reiss. This repair is expected to be ongoing through the weekend. Some noise can be expected during the duration of this repair. Pedestrian and building access will be maintained.
