Join Sarah Stewart Johnson, faculty member within the School of Foreign Service Science, Technology, & International Affairs (STIA) program, as she discusses her new book “The Sirens of Mars: Searching for Life On Another World,” in conversation with SFS alumnus and radio journalist Kai Ryssdal (MA’93, Parent’20), host of “Marketplace” and “Make Me Smart.” Called “empathetic and evocative,” Johnson’s book is a story of both personal journey and scientific discovery, weaving together her experience as a female scientist and mother with her research and quest to discover signs of life in the cosmos. From a child looking at planets in the night sky to a researcher, scientist, and historian, Johnson will share what has driven her passionate pursuit of the Sirens of Mars.
