About the Speaker
Dr. Bahna is Professor of Pediatrics & Medicine and Chief of Allergy/Immunology at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, LA. He is board-certified by the ABP and ABAI, a fellow of the ACAAI, AAAAI, EAACI, AAP, SPR, and CIS. and a widely acclaimed specialist in allergy-immunology. He received a medical degree with honors at Cairo University and a Doctorate in Public Health at Alexandria University, and a Research Fellowship at the University of Bergen, Norway. After pediatric residency at the University of Maryland and fellowship training in allergy/Immunology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles under the mentorship of Dr. Douglas C Heiner, his academic career has included, Professor of Pediatrics & Medicine and Chief of Pediatric A/I at Louisiana State University in New Orleans.- Chairman of the Cleveland Clinic’s Department of A/I, Professor of Pediatrics & Medicine University of South Florida with Dr. Robert A Good. Dr. Bahna has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and has directed four A/I fellowship training programs and mentored more than 80 physicians specialized in A/I. He serves on multiple national advisory committees and editorial boards and many national and international committees and is the recipient of many honors and awards in the field of and immunology. Dr. Bahna has served in many leadership positions including the presidency of the ACAAI’s Presidency in 2009, and the recipient of the 2005 Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award and the 2018 ACAAI Lifetime Achievement Gold-Headed Cane Award of the ACAAI.
