#SCOTUS: A New Justice
Now that President Trump has announced his desired choice to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, all eyes are on the future of the Supreme Court. Join GU Politics for a bipartisan discussion on the confirmation process, as experts familiar with the process pull back the curtain on the perspective of the nominee, the perspective of the Senate, and how each side will approach the politics of filling this high-profile vacancy.
Our conversation will feature insights from Democratic and Republican strategists who have led confirmation proceedings for previous Supreme Court nominees, as well as former top aides to Senators Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who can share their perspectives on how leaders in both parties will navigate contentious dynamics in the Senate.
This virtual forum event will take place on Wednesday, September 30 at 5:00 PM ET and will be live-streamed on GU Politics social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube). Members of the Georgetown community should RSVP here to receive a Zoom link: http://bit.ly/scotusatgu
