Title:
“Nanoparticle Delivery of Cancer Drugs”
This talk will give an overview of the field of nanomedicine, specifically focusing on the use of nanoscale platforms for the delivery of cancer drugs. From the earliest liposomal drug approvals, to the most recent lipid nanoparticle-based mRNA vaccines, nanomedicine has had a major impact on modern healthcare. Nanomedicines are unlike small molecule and biologic drugs with regard to their physicochemical and biological properties. This talk will aim to give the audience an appreciation for what makes nanomedicines unique, difficulties associated with their development, and where the field is heading. This project has been funded in whole or in part with Federal funds from the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, under Contract No. 75N91019D00024.
