About the Speaker:
As a faculty member within the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy since September 2014, I have had the privilege of serving as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor until 2020, thereafter assuming the role of Tenured Associate Professor. Concurrently, I hold a secondary appointment at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine’s Department of Computational and Systems Biology. My research pursuits have been dedicated to the establishment of a world-class laboratory specializing in computational biology and experimental pharmacology. Since joining Pitt in 2014, I have published 56 peer-reviewed research articles. My publications have been cited more than 20,000 times since 2014. My notable senior author papers published from Pitt include those appeared in Cancer Cell, Nature Communications, Science Advances, Theranostics, and Briefs in Bioinformatics. In research funding, I am the Principal Investigator of four active NIH R01 grants and a foundation grant (e.g. Shear Family Foundation). Three of the R01 grants were funded after I was promoted to associate professor in 2020. Since 2014, I am also the Principal Investigator of one American Cancer Society Research School grant, and One Elsa U. Pardee Foundation grant and the Co-Investigator of one R21. I have received three University of Pittsburgh internal grants (UPMC Breast Cancer SPORE pilot project 2020, UPMC Cancer Center Pilot Grant, 2019, NIH Ovarian Cancer SPORE career development award). The total amount of extramural and merit-based internal grants directed to my lab since 2014 is $9,516,970, out of which 71% were obtained since my last promotion in 2019. I am currently a Standing Member of the Peer Review Committee for the American Cancer Society. I have also been frequently invited to review for NIH and DoD study sections. I served as an ad hoc reviewer for the NIH Cancer Genetics (CG) Study Section and Genomics, Computational Biology and Technology (GCAT) Study Section. I have been reviewing for numerous DoD Study Sections since 2019 and served as the chair of the DoD BCRP Study Section in 2022.
