Brazil in Transition Conference
Georgetown University and the Washington Brazil Office (WBO) are thrilled to co-sponsor a conference entitled “Brazil in Transition”. The conference will take place on October 19 and 20, 2023 at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. This conference aims to provide a comprehensive and balanced discussion on the challenges and opportunities currently facing Brazil. By providing diverse perspectives and expert insights, the conference seeks to promote a deeper understanding of Brazil’s evolving political, economic, and social landscape.
Event Details: This conference will take place over two days and feature five panels focused on a wide range of topics including economic development, racism and human rights, the environment and protection of Indigenous peoples, criminality and violence, and democracy. Location: Georgetown University, Intercultural Center (ICC) Auditorium; enter via the third (ground) floor of the ICC
*Enter campus at the main entrance, 37th and O Sts., NW. ICC is northwest across the quad from the main entrance.
*Street parking is available, limited to two hours for those without a Zone 2 permit. For those needing parking for a longer period, the Southwest Quad Garage is available and can be reached via the Canal Road entrance to campus (west of the Key Bridge along Canal Road).
