Book Launch: A Nation of Immigrants by Susan F. Martin
Please join us for discussion of the second edition of Susan F. Martin’s book, A Nation of Immigrants (Cambridge University Press) on Monday, 12 April from 4-5 pm. This book traces four centuries of US immigration history and includes discussion of both President Obama’s and President Trump’s use of executive orders. Martin argues that in spite of the long US long tradition of attracting immigrants, immigration has always been a politically contentious issue.
Following presentation of her book, comments will be offered by Elizabeth Ferris, Research Professor at ISIM. The event will be moderated by Katharine Donato, Director of ISIM and Donald G. Herzerg Chair of International Migration. Please register for the event here: https://georgetown.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJIkd-mhrTgtHdWgH97w5kw_Yk6ezLCrrFhZ.
