Foreign Service Officer in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs
Elizabeth Evans is a career Foreign Service Officer serving in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs. This August she transitioned from the Mekong-U.S. Partnership Unit within the Office of Multilateral Affairs to the Regional Security Policy Office’s Global Team as the Senior Multilateral Affairs Officer and Quad Team Lead. Known formally as the Indo-Pacific Quadrilateral Dialogue, the Quad is composed of Australia, Japan, India, and the United States and meets at the Presidential and Secretary of State level. As a result, Elizabeth works regularly with the NSC, other agencies, foreign counterparts, and senior State Department officials. She has previously served in Auckland, Seoul, and Taipei as a diplomat and as an intern in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs on the India Desk. A Georgetown alumna, she holds masters degrees in South Asian Studies and Public Policy. Before joining State, she worked as an Army civilian and human rights lobbyist.
