Beyond the Stacks: Explore our campus libraries’ hidden gems, historic treasures, and continuously evolving resources.
Our tour will begin with the Riggs Library on the 3rd floor of Healy Hall, one of the country’s few remaining Victorian cast iron libraries. Also in Healy Hall, we’ll visit the Bioethics Library, a hidden refuge for research and study.
In Lauinger Library, we’ll explore the Booth Family Center for Special Collections, where rare books, manuscripts, art, and archives offer a glimpse into the intellectual legacies of the past. Also on the top floor, we’ll see the gorgeous views of the Potomac and peruse the exhibition areas that showcase the treasures in our collections. On the entry level of Lau, you’ll hear about the wide variety of resources available to everyone at Georgetown, from video cameras and Chromebooks to the Washington Post and nearly 1000 databases. Finally in Lau, we’ll learn about the Maker Hub, where innovative tools empower the creation of anything imaginable, representing the latest chapter in the Library’s commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering creativity. We will end the tour with an optional visit to the Blommer Science Library in the Reiss Building.
