Scientific Partners Distinguished Lecture Series Featuring Kedar Narayan, PhD
“Volume Electron Microscopy (vEM): Taking a Measure of Cell Biology in 3D”
Presented by:
Kedar Narayan, PhD
Senior Scientist and Group Leader, Center for Molecular Microscopy
Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research
About the Speaker:
Kedar Narayan is the group leader for the volume EM group at the Center for Molecular Microscopy (CMM), Frederick National Laboratory. He earned a Ph.D. in immunology, and has a research background in chemistry, pathology, and biophysics. Kedar’s work focuses on the use of emerging technologies for cellular imaging. At CMM, he is responsible for FIB-SEM and array tomography, technology development and for driving collaborative projects that use volume EM and correlative imaging approaches to explore cellular mechanisms.
About the Series:
This lecture series is a joint initiative between Frederick National Laboratory and Georgetown University to expand scientific exchanges and give rise to new collaborations and initiatives among our respective institutions.
