Vote-By-Mail & The 2020 Election
On Wednesday, October 14 at 5:30 PM (EDT), the Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service will be joined by Secretaries of State Jocelyn Benson of Michigan and Frank LaRose of Ohio.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to pose a serious public health threat to communities across the country, more and more Americans are planning to cast their votes for the 2020 election by mail. Secretaries Benson and LaRose, who currently serve as co-chairs of the elections committee of the National Association of Secretaries of State, will share their perspectives on increased mail-in voting, how this may affect the results of the upcoming election, and how states and localities can uphold the integrity and accuracy of their vote-by-mail procedures.
Our conversation will be moderated by GU Politics Executive Director Mo Elleithee and will be live-streamed across GU Politics’ social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube). Members of the Georgetown community should RSVP to receive a Zoom link.
