Dear Members of the Georgetown University Community,
On Wednesday, September 24, flyers including violent language appeared on the bulletin board outside of the Village A apartment complex, and on Thursday, September 25, similar flyers with violent imagery and language relating to Charlie Kirk appeared in Red Square. In both instances, university officials acted quickly to remove them. We are investigating these incidents, and we have reported them to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
These flyers are antithetical to Georgetown University’s educational mission. We do not tolerate calls for violence or threats to the university community.
The safety and security of the Georgetown community is our highest priority. The university’s team of safety and security experts, including the Georgetown University Police Department (GUPD) and specialized threat assessment professionals, are leading this investigation and working in partnership with law enforcement.
If you have any information that would assist this investigation, please contact GUPD by calling 202-687-4343 or using the LiveSafe app, which allows users to anonymously submit information about safety issues and to add photos, audio, or video.
We recognize these incidents have been distressing to members of our community. Information about well-being resources is available on our Every Hoya Cares website, and information on safety resources can be found on GUPD’s Campus Services page.
Sincerely,
Josh Bornstein
Vice President for Public Safety
