Local & Global Impact

Georgetown University has always worked for the common good. We instill a set of values in our students — who are tomorrow’s leaders. Today, we’re continuing to deepen our impact through an expanding presence on the global stage and research initiatives that respond to the world’s most complex challenges.

An Education for the Future

As the world changes, so must the way we teach and learn. At Georgetown, preparing students to become tomorrow’s changemakers means instilling a global mindset, breaking disciplinary silos and immersing students in real-world experiences.

In the Heart of the Nation

There is no better place than DC — a global center of influence — to learn how to have an impact, whether through an internship at an NGO or immersion on the Hill, or by getting involved with one of our many community partners or the global businesses headquartered here.

A Growing Footprint

Georgetown has always worked for change locally and on a national level. Today, we’re deepening and extending our impact through our new and expanded campuses.

On the Hilltop Campus, you’ll experience the best of both worlds – a campus that feels like home in the middle of a vibrant city.

Steps from the Hill, our new Capitol Campus puts students and faculty in the heart of the city to explore issues that affect people’s lives. We’re building new partnerships to extend our reach and bridging divides by convening leaders with disparate viewpoints.

Since 2005, our Qatar campus has educated hundreds of students representing 70-plus nationalities in international affairs and foreign service. We’re spreading American educational values, promoting free speech and academic inquiry, and impacting the region through research.

A Global Lens

DC is a hub for international leaders, making this the perfect place to explore solutions for challenges that cross borders. Across our campuses, we’re applying a global lens to environmental, health and other issues that affect the world’s well-being.

Technology for Good

While our Tech & Society initiative investigates how tools like AI can be used for positive change, our researchers are using emerging technologies to help address some of the ills that plague us, from cancer to inequitable resources in education.
