Title: Celebrating Disability Cultural Awareness Month

Banner reading, "Celebrating Disability Cultural Month at Georgetown." In the top right corner are neon pathways connecting.

Georgetown celebrates Disability Cultural Month each October alongside the federally recognized National Disability Employment Awareness Month, highlighting the multitude of contributions of people with disabilities to our university community and to society at large.

People with disabilities belong to a diverse range of communities and backgrounds and have been organizing for equal rights, access, inclusion and opportunity for decades. As a Catholic, Jesuit university, the Georgetown community affirms the inherent dignity of all individuals.

You are invited to explore the Celebrating Disability Pride, Communities and Culture at Georgetown landing page to learn more about the contributions of Georgetown faculty, students, staff and alumni to celebrating and advocating for individuals with disabilities.

You are also invited to check out the broad range of events planned for Disability Cultural Month. Consider attending events hosted by the Disability Cultural Center, including a book launch for Dr. Amy Kenny’s latest book, an art display at ACDC: Art Celebrating Disability Culture and more.

Thank you for joining the community in celebrating Disability Cultural Month at Georgetown.
