Link and Button States Anchor

The following is the link colors and states guidance in use for Georgetown.edu and other recently redesigned sites.

When a dark-colored background is used:

  • Default link state:
    • When no surrounding text exists, the foreground text is white and not underlined.
    • When surrounding text exists, the foreground text is white and underlined.
  • Hover link state:
    • When no surrounding text exists, the foreground text is white and underlined.
    • When surrounding text exists, the foreground text is white and not underlined.
  • Active and focus states:
    • When no surrounding text exists, the foreground text is white, underlined, and has an outline/keyboard focus of #00a1ca (RGB: 0, 161, 202).
    • When surrounding text exists, the foreground text is white, not underlined, and has an outline/keyboard focus of #00a1ca (RGB: 0, 161, 202).

When a light-colored background is used:

  • Default link state:
    • When no surrounding text exists, the foreground text is Georgetown Blue and not underlined.
    • When surrounding text exists, the foreground text is Georgetown Blue and underlined.
  • Hover link state:
    • The foreground text color is Pantone 293 and underlined whether surrounding text exists or does not exist.
  • Active and focus states:
    • The foreground text color is Pantone 293, underlined, and has an outline/keyboard focus of #00a1ca (RGB: 0, 161, 202).
