HOYAlert: Georgetown University campuses in DC are OPEN with Liberal Leave and Instructional Continuity on Friday, Jan. 30.
INSTRUCTIONAL STATUS
Classes will begin at their normally-scheduled times and in their normal locations unless faculty notify their classes that they are implementing their instructional continuity plan.
EMPLOYEE STATUS
Designated emergency employees must report to work on campus on time. All other employees are expected to work as scheduled, either on campus or remotely.
Employees, including those working remotely, who are unable to maintain their normal work schedule should follow their department’s normal call-in procedure and use accrued paid leave, if appropriate.
ESSENTIAL SERVICES
Essential services will continue; however, regular schedules may be adjusted and communicated via the corresponding websites:
- Campus Recreation
- Dining Services
- Facilities Management
- Libraries
- Transportation
- Student Health Services

While campus roads and pathways on our Hilltop and Capitol Campuses have been cleared and are navigable, tomorrow’s operating status is a result of the ongoing and significant impacts to roads in the region and disruptions to public transit lines. We recognize the ongoing impact of this inclement weather situation and thank you for your patience while we work to return campus to a normal operating status as soon as possible.

Classes will not be held in person. Faculty members should use alternative formats (e.g., Zoom) to ensure instructional continuity. Medical and nursing students with clinical responsibilities should follow guidance provided by their schools.
