If you’re from the west coast, the thought of moving 3,000 miles across the country to a new place may sound pretty daunting. Here are 5 reasons why west coasters love Georgetown and make the big move!
1. Location, location, location!
Being in the nation’s capital is one of the best parts of going to school at Georgetown. Just a 2 mile walk/jog/run down the road are the monuments, national museums and Capitol Hill. Of course you can take public transportation or the GUTS bus as well but why miss out on the scenery?🏃🏃🏃
2. Seasons…yes, all of them!
Those leaves! Snow! The cherry blossoms are even better than they say! The summers here are amazing. ☀️
It wasn’t until coming to Georgetown that I was able to experience proper seasons in all of their colorful glory: fall, winter, spring and summer.
3. Exploring a new city and the outdoors
Kayaking on the Potomac! 🚣 Brunch time study spot off-campus Kramerbooks & afterwords…bookstore and cafe! 📚+ ☕️
The best way to see and experience Georgetown and D.C. is to get out and about and explore what the city has to offer.
4. The charming neighborhood
Georgetown is one of DC’s best known neighborhoods and it is cute to boot 💯
Whether you’re from SoCal and used to sunny, blue skies 365 days/year and sitting through traffic on the 405 or a NorCal resident who enjoys fresh, brisk weather and plenty of nature all around, Georgetown will capture your heart with its cobblestone streets and adorable townhouses. No matter the weather, this neighborhood manages to look absolutely beautiful, 100% of the time. Seriously!
5. Home on the Hilltop 🏠
This is to all you West Coasters, East Coasters, Southerners, Mid-Westerners and everyone else in between: no matter where you’re from, you’ll love Georgetown as slowly, but surely, it becomes your home on the Hilltop too.
