Dear Students,
We are writing to share news about a change to our partnership with One Medical. Georgetown’s contract with One Medical will end on June 30. Beginning July 1, 2026, active student members will have 90 days to transition their care elsewhere or obtain a personal membership at a reduced cost. Additional details will be shared directly with those students who have engaged in their services.
We understand that transitions like this can feel challenging, and we want to assure you that supporting your health and well-being remains our top priority. We’re committed to making sure you have seamless access to the care and resources you need.
What This Means for You
- Transitioning Your Care: Starting July 1, 2026, active student members will have 90 days to comfortably transition their care to a new provider. Students also have the option to obtain a personal membership with One Medical at a reduced cost.
- More Information: We will be sharing additional, detailed guidance and FAQs directly with those of you who have utilized One Medical’s services to answer all your questions and support you through this process.
Continuing to Support Your Access to Care
To ensure you have continuous and easy access to support, the Student Health Center (SHC) is launching a new, no-cost service:
- New SHC Nurse Line (Launching July 1, 2026): We are adding a new Nurse Line, available Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. when school is in session. Just call the SHC, request a Nurse Line appointment and a nurse will call you back. They can provide basic home-care guidance, help you schedule a same-day or next-morning appointment if needed or recommend another campus resource like Counseling and Psychiatric Services, Academic Resource Center or Health Education Services after consulting with the Provider of the Day.
In addition to this new service, we want to remind you of two valuable existing virtual options that remain available:
- MedStar eVisits: You can connect with MedStar Health providers 24/7 for many common conditions. Just download the MedStar eVisit app, identify yourself as a Georgetown student and receive care. If follow-up is needed, you can return to the SHC. Most major insurance plans are accepted. If you are on the Georgetown Student Health Insurance Plan (GUSHI), you pay $25 per visit after meeting the $250 annual deductible, with a $75 self-pay option also available.
- HealthiestYou: You may also continue to use HealthiestYou, which provides 24/7 access to medical care and allows you to schedule therapy or psychiatry visits. This service is free for students covered under GUSHI. If you are not on GUSHI, you can still use the service at a discounted rate by registering through telehealth4students.com or the HealthiestYou app.
Finally, remember that you can always contact the SHC after hours. Simply call 202-687-2200, select option “5” and you will be connected to a MedStar page operator who will take a message and have the SHC Physician on Call contact you.
We are here to support you every step of the way and will be sharing more detailed guidance in the coming weeks.
Be well,
Dr. Kathryn Castle
