Title: Summer 2026 Campus Operations and Hours

Dear Members of the Georgetown University Community,

During the summer months, there are several adjustments to operations on campus to reflect the change in campus population. We hope this message provides a helpful overview for navigating these updated summer operations.

Hilltop Campus Services

Campus Dining

Dining locations have varied hours of operation throughout the summer. Please visit www.hoyaeats.com for hours of operation for all locations.

The Table@Leos (Leo O’Donovan Hall) is open for the summer from May 31st (at 4pm) to August 9. Summer Session Meal Plans are available for purchase. For questions regarding summer meal plans, please email mealplans@georgetown.edu. 

All storefronts with The Corp will be closed for the summer from May 10 onwards. Hoya Snaxa and MUG (More Uncommon Grounds) will reopen later this summer. Hilltoss, The Midnight Mug, Uncommon Grounds and Vital Vittles will reopen in the fall.

Georgetown University Bookstore

The summer hours for the Georgetown University Bookstore are as follows:

  • Monday to Friday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

UIS Service Desk

Summer hours are in effect for the UIS Service Desk in the Leavey Center Bookstore beginning Monday, May 18, 2026:

  • Monday to Thursday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Friday: 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Agents will also be available for remote assistance by contacting the UIS Service Center or by email during the following hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Mail Services

The Leavey Mail & Package Center continues its normal hours during the summer, open 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

The Amazon Hub will be open Monday-Friday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Libraries

Library services summer hours are in effect and can be viewed on the Georgetown University Library website.

Student Health Services

Summer hours are in effect for the Student Health Center at Hilltop Campus:

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday and Thursday: 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: Closed

Summer hours for Health Education Services and CAPS will be posted on their websites.

Campus Recreation

A list of holiday hours for the summer can be found on the Campus Recreation website.

All Campus Recreation Facilities will be closed on Memorial Day (May 25), Juneteenth (June 19) and Independence Day (July 4). Additionally, all Campus Recreation Facilities will be closed from August 1 to August 16 for an annual period of cleaning and maintenance.

Hilltop Work Management Service Request Process

Visit the Planning and Facilities Management website to submit a service request. To avoid processing delays, please submit one issue per ticket with the exact location. Refer to this printable one-pager on submitting facilities requests. To reach Work Management 24/7, please call 202-687-3432 or visit the physical office in Harbin B-24.

Please note that Tondorf Road will remain closed for the summer in support of the ICC Roof Replacement & Solar Panel Project.

Capitol Campus Services

Capitol Campus Copy and Mail Center

The Copy and Mail Center will be open throughout the summer, with the following hours:

  • Monday through Thursday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Friday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Service will return to regular hours on Monday, August 10.

Capitol Campus Library

The Capitol Campus Library, located on the 4th floor of 111 Mass. Ave., will operate with summer hours beginning June 1:

  • The library space will be open 8 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekends from June 1 to August 7. 
  • Circulation Desk staffing will be 3-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The space will be completely closed on Juneteenth (Friday, June 19) and July 3-5 for the Fourth of July holiday weekend, with special staff hours on Monday, July 6 (4-9 p.m.). 
  • Reference librarians remain available to meet virtually and in person by appointment, Monday through Friday.

Edward Bennett Williams Law Library

The Williams Law Library building will be open throughout the summer. During this time, building maintenance projects and construction noise may impact areas and some areas will be closed. Please see the Law Library’s Hours page for the most up-to-date building, Circulation, Reference and Special Collections hours.

  • The Law Library will be closed on May 25, June 19 and July 4.

Food Services

Food service locations on the Capitol Campus may have different offerings over the summer. Please see the Hoya Eats page for the latest on each location.

  • The Local closes for the summer on Friday, May 16 at 4 p.m.
  • The Commons Cafe closes for the summer on Friday, May 9 at 3 p.m.
  • Whisk Coffee & Bake Shop will open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., starting May 19.
  • Legal Eats will be available when the Williams Law Library building is open (see Law Library hours above).
  • The Monumental Market in the Ginsburg building will be open during normal building hours.
  • Vending machines remain available during regular building hours.

Scott K. Ginsburg Sport & Fitness Center

Summer facility hours begin on Monday, May 18. Please see the Sport & Fitness page for the pool schedule and holiday closures, access policies and summer programming information. Summer hours are as follows:

  • Monday through Thursday: 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Friday: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: Noon-5 p.m.

Student Health Services

Starting May 11, summer hours for the Student Health Center at Capitol Campus will be:

  • Wednesdays: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Capitol Campus IST (Information Systems Technology) Service Desk

The IST Service Desk, located in McDonough Hall 152, will operate during the following hours throughout the summer, beginning on May 18, 2026:

  • Monday through Friday: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 8:30 a.m.–5:30 a.m. (Sunday hours during summer classes only).

Shared Services

Safety & Security

Georgetown University Police Department (GUPD) on the Hilltop and Capitol campuses can be contacted at 202-687-434 at any time. If off campus, call 911.

Use the LiveSafe app to share information about concerning incidents with GUPD anonymously, request a SafeRide or a personal escort or use SafeWalk to share your location.

Ensure you are enrolled to receive email and text messages from HOYAlert, Georgetown’s mass notification system used in the event of an emergency situation or incident on campus, and consider enrolling in AlertDC, the official District of Columbia communications system that allows you to receive emergency alerts, notifications and updates directly from DC’s public safety officials.

GUTS Updates for the Summer

The Capitol Campus GUTS Shuttle (which connects the Hilltop Campus with the Capitol Campus) will have a modified summer schedule with fewer trips.

  • The shuttle will begin its summer schedule on Monday, May 19, and will run through Friday, August 22.
  • The shuttle will have a direct connection for 55 H St. and the Law Center/125 E St. to the Hilltop Campus.
  • The shuttle does not run on holidays: May 26 (Memorial Day), June 19 (Juneteenth) and July 4 (Independence Day).
