Dear Members of the Georgetown University Community,
We are excited to inform you that Georgetown’s hotel in the Leavey Center will reopen as the Hoya Hotel in summer 2026.
In collaboration with Crestline Hotels and Resorts, the manager of the hotel, the renovation will reestablish the facility as a modern hotel with a full-service restaurant, bar and gathering space. The renovation will include new furniture and lighting elements and designs that point to Georgetown’s rich history and mission. In total, the hotel will feature 146 modern guest rooms over five stories; 13,000 square feet of meeting and event space for conferences, academic gatherings and social events; and an open-concept lobby with natural lighting from floor-to-ceiling windows.
Construction Impacts
Construction will begin in the middle of November 2025.
During this time, please expect typical construction noise to take place in the public spaces on Leavey Level 1 throughout the duration of the project. The hotel lobby (Lombardi Circle entrance) will be closed for the entirety of the construction period. Alternatively, community members can enter through the Leavey Garage elevator lobby and stairwell on the east side of the building.

Alternative entrance to Leavey Center noted with a green arrow.
Yellow arrows signify additional alternative entrances that will have expected phased closures.
As part of the renovation, the gallery corridors will be upgraded and will undergo phased closures. These closures will affect pedestrian access between Hariri and the Leavey Center, as well as access to the Amazon Hub. Pedestrian signage will be posted throughout each phase of the project to redirect foot traffic. Information about phased closures will be posted on the project landing page in the coming weeks.
GUTS buses will continue to run to Lombardi. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact construction@georgetown.edu or visit the project landing page for more information.
We are excited to welcome Hoya families and community members to the renovated Hoya Hotel next year!
Sincerely,
Planning and Facilities Management
