Title: Flu Vaccination Clinics for Faculty and Staff

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Flu season is around the corner, and one of the best steps you can take to prepare and to protect yourself and others is to get your flu vaccine as soon as possible.

Georgetown University is collaborating with LabCorp once again to offer free flu vaccination (injection) clinics in October and November for faculty and staff on the Main and Medical Center campuses, the Law Center, School of Continuing Studies, 2115 Wisconsin Avenue NW and 11333 Woodglen Dr. Rockville (full schedule below).

Most health insurance plans also cover seasonal flu vaccinations at no cost. For those covered under a Georgetown University-sponsored health plan, you can learn more about getting your vaccine on the following websites:

Scheduling a Vaccination Appointment

You can schedule your free flu vaccination via LabCorp by following the steps below (if you need further guidance, see LabCorp’s additional instructions):

  1. If this is your first time scheduling a LabCorp flu vaccination at Georgetown University, select “Create a New Account.” Enter the Visitor Access Code: GeorgetownFlu and submit your Georgetown University NetID email/contact information.
  2. If you have previously registered on LabCorp for a flu vaccination and are an “existing user,” you can sign in to your account. Click “Continue” in the blue “Onsite Flu Vaccination” box.
  3. You’ll be prompted to complete the consent form for your vaccination electronically. This means that you will not have to complete a paper consent form at the clinic and that, after your appointment, you will have access to an online record of your flu vaccination through the portal. LabCorp also will ask a number of questions as part of the consent process; please note that this information is for LabCorp’s use as part of regulatory reporting and will not be shared with Georgetown University.
  4. Under the “Search” column, select your preferred vaccination clinic location from the drop-down menu to have available appointment dates and times displayed.
  5. Select and schedule your preferred vaccination slot.
  6. Please be prepared to present your GOCard (mobile or physical) at your appointment.
  7. You must wear a mask while at the vaccination clinic.

The clinics will not offer the high dose flu vaccine designed for individuals 65 and older. If you have any questions about receiving a flu vaccination, please refer to your primary care physician.

There is no need to space out the flu vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine shots if you are eligible for and planning on getting the new bivalent booster. While these clinics will only have the flu vaccine available, you can get the bivalent COVID-19 booster at various locations in Washington, DC, including at local pharmacies, and in DC-government operated COVID Centers. You may visit vaccines.gov to find a location to schedule your booster or reach out to hoyavaxa@georgetown.edu with inquiries about the bivalent COVID-19 booster.

Thank you for taking this important step to protect your own health and the health of our community.

Sincerely,

Ranit Mishori, M.D., MHS, FAAFP
