Title: Expired Links in Broadcast Emails

Dear Members of the Georgetown University Community,

Salesforce Marketing Cloud, the university’s broadcast email management software, has notified the university that it made an immediate change to links in email messages sent from the university through Marketing Cloud due to a security concern. Links in any messages sent through Marketing Cloud on or before Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, have expired and are no longer clickable. This impact extends beyond Georgetown to other Salesforce clients.

Any links in messages sent after last Wednesday, January 21 carry the upgraded security and will function properly.

What does this mean for you?

If you are viewing an email sent on or before Jan. 21, 2026, links will not work. If you need to access a link, please take the following steps:

  1. Reply to the email or the point of contact listed in the email and ask for the correct link.
  2. Visit the following pages where broadcast messages are frequently posted. Links should function properly on these pages.
    1. University Messages to the Community
    2. Office of the President Messages
    3. Office of the Provost Messages
    4. Messages from the University Registrar
    5. Active Construction Projects page
  3. If these steps do not work, email internalcommunications@georgetown.edu for further assistance.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and are monitoring the issue closely. Thank you for your attention. If you have any questions, please contact help@georgetown.edu.

Sincerely,

University Information Services (UIS)
