Georgetown University graduated 5,455 students during its 2011 Commencement Weekend, May 19-22.
“Each one of you has had impact on this university community,” Georgetown President John J. DeGioia told graduates during senior convocation May 20. “You’ve contributed to scholarship and learning on this hilltop. You’ve enriched us with your passions and talents. You’ve demonstrated to younger classes how to build community. You’ve engaged in service to change lives in this city and around the world. In doing so you’ve enhanced our mission, deepened our knowledge and extended our tradition in meaningful ways. We celebrate your achievements and your accomplishments and we thank you.”
Speakers ranged from Costa Rica’s president, Laura Chinchilla (G’89), to Prize-winning economist Robert M. Solow to Georgetown’s own Madeleine Albright.
Following is a list of the number of graduates from each of Georgetown’s four undergraduate schools (Georgetown College, the McDonough School of Business, the School of Foreign Service and the School of Nursing & Health Studies), its Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the schools of medicine and law and the School of Continuing Studies.
