Dear Students,
We are pleased to announce the continuation of the Hoya Transit program for the Spring 2024 semester in conjunction with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). This program is designed to support the student body in traveling across the Washington, DC, region sustainably. Student ridership data and student feedback will help inform future decisions related to sustainable and affordable transportation near the University’s campuses and in the surrounding areas.
Current full-time undergraduate, graduate and professional students from all campuses may apply for this program. Selected students will receive a $100 credit for the semester applied to a SmarTrip account to be used toward transit passes or standard pay-as-you-go transit.
Students who are interested in participating in this program for the Spring 2024 semester should complete the Spring 2024 participation request form no later than 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 12.
Up to 3,200 program participants will be selected through an anonymized random selection process from among eligible students who submit a participation request form. If you are selected, you will receive an enrollment email on Friday, November 17, and you must complete your enrollment by Sunday, December 10, in order to receive the funds on January 1. Please ensure that you use your Georgetown NetID email address when enrolling.
This enrollment process is separate from the Fall 2023 semester. Participation in the program for the spring semester will be determined independent of a student’s participation during the fall semester. All students must complete the form by the deadline, regardless of previous participation.
You can learn more about the program, its goals, and how this data will be monitored and used on the Hoya Transit program page. If you have any questions, please contact hoyatransit@georgetown.edu.
Sincerely,
