Poll Everywhere: a Polling Tool for Student Engagement
Polling allows instructors to ask a question and instantly receive responses from students during class. Instructors can poll students to check their understanding or gather views on a particular topic. Dahlgren Memorial Library’s Instructional Technology Design and Development (ITDD) division is offering a workshop to introduce a polling tool available for face-to-face and online classes:
- Poll Everywhere: a web-based polling tool that offers a variety of question types and activities—multiple choice, word cloud, clickable image, open-ended, competition, etc.
Participants in this workshop will learn how to use the polling tool for classroom activities to engage students, such as icebreakers, class discussions, and competitions. This workshop will offer demonstrations of the main features of the tool, including how to create and launch polls, and hands-on activities.
Registration and participation require a georgetown.edu, gunet.georgetown.edu, or medstar.net email address. The Zoom link for this workshop will be provided in your registration confirmation email.
