Securitizing Youth: Young People’s Roles in the Global Peace and Security Agenda
Today’s generation of youth is larger than it has been at any other time in human history. Over 600 million youth live in conflict-affected regions, and their experiences are strongly determined by gender and generational power dynamics. Yet, there is still limited research on the role of youth in peace and security, and even less with a gender lens.
Join us to mark the launch of the volume Securitizing Youth, edited by Dr. Marisa O. Ensor, which offers new insights on young people’s engagement in a wide range of contexts related to the peace and security field, with a focus on the role of gender. Leading experts will share top findings and discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by young women and men in their efforts to build more peaceful, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable societies.
