Policy in Focus – A Discussion with Bill Spriggs (AFL/CIO)
You’re invited to join the McCourt School of Public Policy for Policy in Focus: A Conversation with William Spriggs, Chief Economist, AFL-CIO.
Policy in Focus conversations are intimate and informal Zoom calls with policy experts and practitioners discussing policy trends, news, and career paths. These quick conversations–30 minutes, max!– will be moderated by a McCourt student and are designed to give students insight from insiders about specific policy areas, what it’s like to work in or how to get a job in a particular sector, and a chance to discuss news of the day. Attendees will also have a chance to engage directly with the guest and ask questions.
Bill Spriggs is the chief economist at the AFL-CIO and a professor in the Department of Economics at Howard University. At the AFL-CIO, he chairs the Economic Policy Working Group of the Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD and serves on the board of the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is currently on the Advisory Board to the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank Opportunity & Inclusive Growth Institute, and on the editorial boards for Public Administration Review and the Journal of the Center for Policy Analysis and Research (of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation).
