if i could write you a song | A Listening Party | Olivia Lei (C’22) Senior Capstone Event
if i could write you a song is a declaration of love, for oneself—in all our forms and manifestations—and for those who have made us who we are. Within this collection you will find a poem to a younger self, an admonition to a future lover, an anthem for when life gets a little lonely, and a lullaby for those whose light is so much brighter than they may ever realize. I hope these songs bring you the comfort they have given me; what would you write, if given the chance, and to whom? McNEIR HALL, NEW NORTH BUILDING
Olivia Lei (C’22) is an American Musical Culture and Justice and Peace Studies double major at Georgetown University. Constantly in search of the nexus between creativity and social impact, Olivia apparently wants to have it all. Just as she hails from different corners of the globe (from Australia to Switzerland, China to Portugal), her eclectic musical sensitivities include classical, R&B, folk, jazz, and blues influences to name but a few. Above all, Olivia likes to think of herself as a storyteller, both in her music and in her writing. She hopes you’ll join her as she embarks on this musical journey of self-love and rediscovery.
