Friday Music Series: Claudia Chudacoff, Violin; Ignacio Alcover, Cello; Kathryn Brake, Piano
Concertmaster of both the National Gallery Orchestra and the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, violinist Claudia Chudacoff retired in 2015 as concertmaster of the U.S. Marine Band’s White House Chamber Orchestra, in which she served during four Presidential administrations. Characterized as a compelling and imaginative performer by The Washington Post, pianist Kathryn Brake has performed solo recitals in the United States, Canada, Italy, France, Switzerland and Spain and as soloist with the Baltimore Symphony and the National Symphony. Cellist Ignacio Alcover is a member of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, founder/artistic director of Musica Aperta, and has appeared in concert and recorded with ensembles that range from the XXI Century Consort to the Thievery Corporation.
Program includes Trio for Piano, Violin, and Cello, Op. 120 by Gabriel Fauré and Piano Trio in A Minor by Maurice Ravel.
The Georgetown University Music Program’s Friday Music Series features acclaimed artists in free concerts on select Fridays at 12:30 p.m., integrated into the undergraduate course (MUSC 200) titled Live Music in Context.
This event is open to the GU community of students, faculty, and staff only. Masks are required for audience members and no food or drink is allowed in the venue.
