First 100 Days of U.S.-China Relations under President Biden
To the surprise of some observers, the Biden administration has adopted a frank and sometimes confrontational stance towards China during its first several months in office. China has done the same, with the critique of the United States becoming even more caustic. On issues of trade, technology, security, and human rights the focus has been on managing strategic competition and rallying allies to the U.S. side. What do Chinese analysts make of the Biden administration’s approach to China and the wider region so far? What dangers and opportunities lie ahead? This online dialogue will bring together leading scholars from the United States and China to discuss these issues.
This dialogue is co-sponsored by Georgetown University’s Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues and the Asian Studies Program in the School of Foreign Service.
