Doyle Conversations about Anti-Racism in Higher Education
The Doyle Engaging Difference Program, in partnership with the Program in Learning, Design, and Technology, invites the Georgetown University community to participate in a series of conversations that aim to bring students, staff, and faculty together in order to imagine and design anti-racist initiatives and pedagogical approaches. Using selected readings as a point of departure, participants will engage in discussion and consider approaches to implementing anti-racist pedagogical practice in the classroom and in institutional life. By investigating our own perspectives alongside other students, faculty, and staff, we hope to reconsider and reframe our roles in—and beyond—higher education.
Conversations will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on September 23, October 14, and November 11. We hope to create community and continuity with everyone participating in all three conversations, but if your schedule does not allow for that, please join us for whatever portions you are able.
This conversation series is co-sponsored by Georgetown University’s Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs; Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS); and Program in Learning, Design, and Technology.
Space is limited and restricted to Georgetown University students, faculty, and staff. Please fill out this RSVP form to participate. The Zoom Webinar link and instructions to join the call, along with readings and additional resources, will be emailed to all registered participants.
