COVID-19: Fighting myths and misinformation
The coronavirus pandemic has put science reporters throughout the world front and center for nearly two years. The information provided by these journalists has been crucial as people try to negotiate the pandemic. But for some, it points to what they believe is a liberal bias in the media. National Public Radio science reporter Joe Palca has been at the forefront of COVID coverage and shares his observations. Palca is a winner of a AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Award and his appearance is part of the AAAS Kavli Science Journalism lecture series. This event is sponsored jointly by the Georgetown SCS Master’s in Professional Studies in Journalism program and the Georgetown College Journalism program.
