Countering Illicit Finance Practitioner

Katarina O’Regan is a 2019 MSFS alum and currently works as a Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she focuses on a range of sanctions and illicit finance issues. Previously, she served as a Senior Sanctions Policy Advisor at Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, where she covered sanctions policy issues relating to Russia, human rights, and corruption, and as a Foreign Policy Analyst at the Congressional Research Service where she provided nonpartisan policy analysis on transnational crime. She is a Presidential Management Fellow alum, and holds a B.A. from Fordham University. Before MSFS, she worked in international development and foreign policy research in D.C. and in Liberia, Bangladesh, and Tunisia.
