The Georgetown University Art Galleries will exhibit “Kara Walker: Back of Hand” this fall. The exhibition was curated by Dr. Katie Geha of the University of Georgia, where it was displayed at their contemporary art gallery The Athenaeum. The de la Cruz Gallery will exhibit 20+ drawings by this prominent artist. In the Spagnuolo Gallery, Walker’s film “Prince McVeigh and the Turner Blasphemies” will be shown. The artworks address themes of race, gender, sexuality and violence. This is the first time that these works will be on-view in D.C.
The GU Art Galleries are ADA accessible. For any accessibility requests, please email emma.mcmorran@georgetown.edu.
