Arabic Conversation Sessions
These conversation sessions are open to students who are currently registered in ARAB classes. Students not enrolled in the appropriate level will be dropped.
Beginner Arabic Conversation Session for Students in ARAB 012 ONLY:
This optional and zero credit session (“lab”) helps beginners communicate about everyday topics. Learners will develop their Arabic pronunciation and activate learned vocabulary and phrases in short messages and dialogues about daily life topics. This conversation session is open to students who are currently registered in ARAB012 sections ONLY.

Intermediate Arabic Conversation Session for Students in ARAB 112 ONLY:
This optional and zero credit session (“lab”) helps intermediate level learners communicate about daily life topics by producing strings of sentences. Learners will also activate learned vocabulary related to personal and family topics, work, school, hobbies…etc. Learners will be able to describe objects and events, and make basic comparisons. This conversation session is open to students who are currently registered in ARAB112 sections ONLY.

Advanced Arabic Conversation Session for Students in ARAB 216/217 ONLY:
This optional and zero credit session (“lab”) helps advanced level learners communicate about a variety of complex topics such as autobiographical, social, abstract, and and academic topics. Learners will produce paragraph length conversations, and narratives in the past, present and future time frames. Learners will be able to compare and evaluate different points of view on concrete and abstract topics. This conversation session is open to students who are currently registered in ARAB216, ARAB217 sections and other ARAB content courses ONLY.

Post-Advanced Arabic Conversation Session Students:
This post-Advanced Arabic conversation session is a continuation of the advanced level session and is designed to help learners communicate about a variety of complex topics such as autobiographical, social, abstract, and academic topics. Learners will produce paragraph length conversations, and narratives in the past, present and future time frames. Learners will be able to compare and evaluate different points of view on concrete and abstract topics. This conversation session is open to students currently enrolled in ARAB courses and have completed at least Advanced Arabic II (ARAB216 or ARAB217). Students currently in ARAB216/ARAB217 may register for the Advanced Arabic conversation session (ARAB216-10). Registration requires department approval.
