Career Education

Helping students prepare for successful careers after graduation is a high priority at Georgetown. We provide our students and young alumni with a wide variety of resources and tools with which to explore professional interests, research opportunities and graduate or professional degree programs. One of Georgetown’s greatest resources is our more than 150,000 alumni. Our Alumni Career Network spans the globe, with leading scholars and professionals in both the public and private spheres.

Career Education Center

The Career Education Center’s professional staff teach students and young alumni how to identify career opportunities that suit their individual strengths and interests. Students can attend career workshops or schedule an individual appointment for guidance on writing a résumé and cover letter, job search strategies and interviewing tips. They practice interviewing techniques through a mock interview with a career counselor. The center also provides a number of other resources and services – including an internship database, on-campus interviewing with Fortune 500 and other companies and employer networking events.

Career Services for Graduate Students

Many of Georgetown’s graduate degree programs also offer specialized career counseling and resources to their students. These includes the Law Center, the McDonough School of Business, the McCourt School of Public Policy and the School of Foreign Service.

Alumni Career Services

Georgetown provides our alumni community with resources for lifelong career development and networking through our Alumni Career Services website, operated by the Office of Alumni Relations. Alumni can access the network's database for networking opportunities and also search by employer, industry, occupation and geographic region. The website also offers a job search guide, résumé and cover letter reviews, interview services, a graduate school admissions guide and a directory of alumni career coaches and executive recruiters. In addition, Alumni Career Services organizes webinars and regional networking events throughout the year.
