Video: Pope Francis & the Jewish Community of Argentina
On November 4, 2013 in Riggs Library, Rabbi Abraham Skorka, rector of the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary in Argentina, spoke about "Pope Francis and the Jewish Community of Argentina." He was joined by Rabbi Marcelo Bronstein of B’nai Jeshurun and Rabbi Rachel Gartner, Director of Georgetown's Jewish Chaplaincy.
Rabbi Skorka has been a close friend of Pope Francis for many years, and they co-authored Sobre el cielo y la tierra (“On Heaven and Earth”), a collection of their conversations and ongoing dialogue. He has said of his relationship with the Pope, “ours is not a relation of ‘tea and sympathy’; that is not my way, and it is not Bergoglio’s way. We want to move ahead by actions, we must advance by building bridges, through a living dialogue.”
