Students Bring Farmers' Market to Georgetown
A Farmers' Market on campus is the brainchild of students who took a Health Promotion/Disease Prevention course at Georgetown's School of Nursing & Health Studies. The first market, featuring all local farmers within a 200-mile radius of the university, offered organic fruits and vegetables and other wares on campus this past April 29. The organizers, who have raised $5,000 for the project, hope to offer more Farmers' Markets in the 2011-2012 school year.
