The Yellow Ribbon Program
Overview
The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. This program allows institutions of higher learning to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the in-state tuition and fees of public institutions or the $17,500 per year payable to private and foreign institutions. The institution can contribute up to 50% of those expenses and VA will match the same amount as the institution.
Georgetown University is a proud participant in the Yellow Ribbon program, enhancing financial access for student veterans. For more information, contact the Georgetown Veterans Office, Email: veteranservices@georgetown.edu. Phone: (202) 687.2708.
