July 27, 2011 – Natsu Onoda Power, assistant professor of theater, debuted her adaptation of Michael Pollan's best-selling book, The Omnivore's Dilemma, at Georgetown's Davis Performing Arts Center July 26.
Power directs a cast of students in the theater and performance studies program to transform Pollan's work of nonfiction into a participatory experience, which runs through July 31. The performance takes audiences hunting and gathering throughout the Davis Performing Arts Center to forage for information as they experience different site-specific performances and installations about food.
The production engages the question: “What should we have for dinner?” — a quandary that the book's author says has confronted man since the discovery of fire.
