GU Picnic Shines Through on Rainy Day
October 3, 2011 – Cool temperatures and light rain didn’t stop neighbors, students and other members of the Georgetown community from attending the Oct. 1 Hoya Fall Picnic hosted by the Office of Off-Campus Student Life.
Neighbors of all ages gathered on Main Campus to hear the university's pep band and a number of student a cappella groups and eat free hamburgers and hot dogs made by the Georgetown University Grilling Society.
Kids were treated to lawn games and a balloon artist.
The event was capped off by a visit from three Jacks – Jack the bulldog, Jack the mascot and President John J. "Jack" DeGioia, who all joined neighbors and students for a festive afternoon.
