Georgetown Wins Gold for Alumni Webinars
July 12, 2011 – Georgetown’s Alumni Career Services won a gold medal for best webinars from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
The webinars competed in CASE’s annual Circle of Excellence awards program, which recognizes outstanding work in communications, marketing, alumni relations and fundraising at educational organizations.
“I’m thrilled that CASE has recognized Georgetown for this unique and expansive program, which provides alumni an opportunity to reconnect with their alma mater and gain important professional skills from wherever they may be,” says Bill Reynolds (C’79), executive director of the Georgetown University Alumni Association and associate vice president for alumni relations and annual fund.
Georgetown’s webinar program, which had more than 10,000 alumni registrants last year, competed against 19 other entries for the 2011 CASE award.
The program allows alumni from around the globe to access sessions online to learn about career and professional development topics that range from navigating career transitions to finding a literary agent.
The office holds about five one-hour sessions a month, most of which are presented by alumni experts.
