Rev. Kevin O'Brien, S.J.

June 18, 2012 – Georgetown’s Rev. Kevin O’Brien, S.J., has been awarded an Excellence in Publishing Award for his guide to daily living with Ignatian values and spiritual exercises.

The Association of Catholic Publishers recognized O’Brien, vice president of mission and ministry at Georgetown, for his book The Ignatian Adventure (Loyola Press, 2011). He placed third in the award’s prayer and spirituality category.

The book’s core offers 32 weeks of prayer and meditations to draw readers into a deeper encounter with God.

“I wrote the book to share the Jesuit spiritual tradition with our students colleagues and friends,” O’Brien says. “The purpose of the book is to help people deepen their faith in the midst of their busy lives. The award tells me that the book has been helpful to people.”
