2012 Marshall and Mitchell Scholars

An undergraduate majoring in international politics and an alumnus getting his master’s in security studies at Georgetown win Marshall Scholarships. Meanwhile, a neurobiology major at the university claims one of this year's coveted Mitchell Scholarships.

Shea Houlihan (SFS’13) is expected to pursue graduate studies in survival migration at the University of Sussex, while Benjamin Buchanan (C’11, G’13) plans to get a doctoral degree in war studies at King’s College London or a doctorate in Information, Communication and the Social Sciences from the University of Oxford. Mitchell scholar Wardah Athar(C’13) will continue her studies in neurobiology at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland.

The two new Marshall scholars bring the number of Georgetown recipients to 21, while Athar becomes the university's 14th Mitchell scholar.
