North Korea: Experts Examine Military Threats, Leadership

April 23, 2013 – Georgetown Asian studies director Victor Cha evaluates nuclear threats coming from North Korea while psychology professor Fathali Moghaddam explains the psychology of dictatorships, the subject of his recent book.

Moghaddam, also director of the Master of Arts Program in Conflict Resolution, says North Korea leader Kim Jong-un’s actions since assuming power have extinguished any hope of reform in the country.

Cha, who is the D.S. Song-KF Endowed Chair in Government and International Affairs at Georgetown, says North Korea's new leader should be aware of the impact his threats could make in the world.
