Business School Names New External Affairs Leader
March 27, 2012 – Jeffrey Franke has been named associate dean for external affairs and special advisor to the dean in the McDonough School of Business.
The first to hold the position, Franke had served as the school’s chief of staff to the dean since 2006.
In his new role, Franke oversees the school’s alumni relations, the board of advisors, the parents advisory council, and corporate relations and community relations. He also coordinates the school’s development activities with the university’s central advancement office, which includes stewardship activities and the newly launched capital campaign.
Franke will retain responsibility for select school-wide initiatives and projects.
“Our goal is to make all of our external partners – alumni, corporate and community – feel engaged with the school and to steward that engagement efficiently and effectively,” he said.
Before coming to Georgetown, Franke worked in the government, private and nonprofit sectors. He has worked as an officer with the Pew Charitable Trusts, as chief of staff at Investors’ Education Foundation, and as a managing consultant at Hamilton, Rabinovitz & Alschuler Inc.
